The AiM Mychron Expansion is a channel multiplier used for improving the Mychron5 S & Mychron5 S 2T performances.

Mychron Expansion

The AiM MyChron Expansion is an add-on for the MyChron4, MyChron5, Mychron5 S and Mychron5 S T2 Kart Racing Data Logging Dash.

It plugs into the CAN expansion port on your MyChron dash to expand its capabilities. The Expansion has a single CAN expansion port plus four additional sensor inputs.

All four inputs can accept our karting sensors (brake/throttle pedal position, temperature, steering angle, etc.). One of the four inputs can accept a speed sensor.

The Mychron requires an external 12-volt power source such as your kart's battery.

Mychron Expansion 

Thanks to four additional channels and a further CAN bus, the MyChron Expansion channel multiplier improves MyChron5 and MyChron5 2T (and MyChron4 and MyChron4 2T) performance.

Through this last connector, you can connect the systems to LCU-One Lambda controller and SmartyCam HD (and to GPS and Data key for MyChron4 systems).
Thanks to its specific wirings, MyChron Expansion powers the systems and peripherals with an external battery, avoiding internal battery consumption.

All channels are easily configurable as analogue through the system menu to sample data coming from:

*Exhaust gas valve position sensor (essential to understand at which RPM value the exhaust port opens)
*Wheel speed sensor: The first input on the left can also be configured as digital input
*No contact brake pedal position sensor
*No contact throttle pedal position sensor (to know if and when to accelerate)
*Brake pressure sensor
*Water temperature or cylinder head temperature (PT100 thermo-resistor only)
*Steering angle potentiometer (to highlight over/under steering situations)
*Brake pedal potentiometer
*Throttle pedal potentiometer

Build A Network & add Optional extras

The acquisition of all essential data you need to evaluate your kart's performance requires connecting many peripherals to your Mychron. This means a large number of extra cables.

Using our Data Hub, a CAN connection multiplier that works as an interface between all our AiM loggers and peripheral equipment to solve this problem.

Each Hub connects the logger with four peripherals such as LCU Lambda Controller, GPS Module and one more TC Hub. The data hub takes all the information you need to your logger with only one cable.

The data hubs are available in two-way and four-way versions in the accessories tab.

Configure & Analyse with Race Studio 3

Configuration

With Race Studio 3, you can create, modify, delete, import and export configurations with all channels, ECU drivers, Math channels, Display Pages, Digital outputs, Alarms, Shift Lights and all the expansions you need. You will also be able to manage the map of all your racing tracks and compare two laps watching the video recorded by SmartyCam HD cameras.

Analysis

With Race Studio 3, you can also analyse all data recorded and downloaded to your PC: graphs, histograms and tables will help you study your performance, providing objective support to avoid mistakes and improve performances.
