Optical Lap Transmitter


The infrared beacon (also known as a Optical Lap Transmitter) is simply positioned at the side of the track and operates with the infrared pickup / receiver.

The beacon transmitter may be powered by the internal battery pack, composed of 8 AA batteries ( not included), or by a 12 volt external power source using the supplied lead.

The beacon transmitter has two operating modes: LOW power and HIGH power. The low power mode is used when the track is less than 10m (30f) wide, while the high power mode is used when the track is up to 20 m (60f) wide.
