Laser Ride Height Sensor

The Non-Contact Laser Ride Height Sensor is a highly accurate tool used in motorsport data logging to constantly measure the exact distance between the vehicle's chassis and the track surface. As ride height directly affects a vehicle’s aerodynamics, the Laser Ride Height Sensor provides a fast and accurate solution to maximise the speed and stability of your vehicle.

Why Choose the Non-Contact Laser Ride Height Sensor

Laser sensors measure distances without contact using laser radiation, making it ideal for measuring distances between moving objects. With a 60 - 260mm measurement range, the Laser Ride Height Sensor is ideal for use on all types of vehicles.

Made with a robust aluminium casing to protect against high vibration and temperature, and with a measurement rate of 1KHz and linearity of 0.1%, the Non-Contact Laser Ride Height Sensor ensures a fast and accurate recording of real-time vehicle data.

How the Non-Contact Laser Ride Height Sensor Works

The Laser Ride Height Sensor shines a small, visible laser beam straight down onto the track. This laser light reflects off the track surface, and the reflected light is then caught by the CCD detector. By seeing where the reflected dot lands on the detector, the sensor can instantly calculate the height of the vehicle. If the vehicle is higher, the reflected dot lands in one spot; if it’s lower, it lands in another.
