Aim ACC3 Open Analogue CAN Converter

The Aim ACC3 Open builds on the strengths of the standard ACC3, while adding the versatility of open CAN communication, making it the perfect option for teams running mixed-system environments.

In addition to handling up to 4 analogue inputs and 2 speed inputs, the ACC3 Open can output data via CAN, allowing it to communicate with third-party systems such as MoTeC, Pi, VBOX, Cosworth, Bosch, and other motorsport brands. With the ability to define bit rate protocols, field messages, and payload details, it offers complete control over how your data is shared and integrated.

The ACC3 Open can still function as a seamless Aim expansion, but with the added advantage of cross-brand compatibility, ensuring your sensors and data remain useful even if your setup evolves. This makes it a future-proof solution for teams that demand both the reliability of Aim hardware and the flexibility to connect with external networks.

The analogue to CAN converter supports up to 4 analogue inputs at up to 200Hz, working with a wide range of motorsport sensors:

• Thermocouples (K-type, using dedicated compensated cables)
• Thermo Resistors
• 0–5V Sensors
• 0–12V Sensors

The ACC3 Open also features 2 speed inputs (internal pull-up for open drain/collector input), giving greater flexibility for monitoring wheel speed, driveshafts, or auxiliary functions.

What sets the Aim ACC3 Open apart is its ability to build a dedicated CAN output for communication with external devices. This allows you to define bit rate protocol, field messages, and CAN payload details, making it compatible with other motorsport data networks. The ACC3 Open can also be used as an Aim expansion without limitations, giving you complete control over how your data is shared and analysed.

By selecting the appropriate harness, channels can be customised to the sensors you connect. The ACC3 Open supports up to 4 K-type thermocouples for accurate temperature measurement across multiple areas of your vehicle.

The ACC3 Open can be connected to Aim Eclipse sensors, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the entire chassis. Data acquired from Aim linear potentiometers can be processed through the suspension analysis tool in Race Studio 3, providing a detailed picture of your vehicle’s dynamics.
