The Aim LCU-One S Open Lambda Controller can detect an accurate Lambda value from 0.65 to 1.6, delivering precise and reliable measurements for engine tuning. By analysing the remaining oxygen in the exhaust gases, it highlights excess or a lack of oxygen in the carburetion process, giving essential insights for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
The LCU-One S uses the wideband Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor due to its stability and long service life, designed to last more than 100,000km on a stock car without recalibration.

Bosch LSU 4.9 Probe
The Bosch LSU 4.9 is a wideband lambda (AFR) sensor designed to measure oxygen content in the exhaust gases of gasoline or diesel engines.
It is a planar ZrO₂ dual-cell limiting current sensor with an integrated heater and provides a monotonic output signal from lambda 0.65 to air, allowing it to be used as a universal sensor for lambda one and other ranges.
The connector module includes a trimming resistor that defines the sensor’s characteristic, and the unit is known for its robust design and high Bosch production quality standards. It must be installed where exhaust gas is representative and within the permissible temperature range, ideally mounted vertically with the wiring upwards, away from the exhaust outlet and leaks, protected from condensation, and free from paint, wax, or other treatments, using only the recommended grease on the threads.
