Why Choose the MXS Strada Motorcycle Dash Display

The MXS Strada with road icons is one of the most widely used dash displays on roads around the world. The MXS 1.3 Strada has a compact 5" colour TFT display that offers great visual impact. You can configure the dash to show all the information coming from the motorcycle’s ECU, analogue/digital inputs, predefined math channels and an optional GPS Module.

Easy Connection

The MXS 1.3 Strada has a choice of ECU connections. Choose between the OBDII or K-Line CAN. Depending on whether you want to connect to the motorcycle's ECU using the OBDII port or directly to the ECU through the CAN channel.

Connecting the MXS 1.3 Strada dash to your motorcycle's ECU is simple; you can sample and display dozens of channels. This is usually the quickest and easiest setup, needing only 2 cable connections to the ECU instead of multiple connections to analogue sensors.

The sampled data depends on the actual ECU, but will typically include RPM, throttle position (TPS), oil, air, water temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, speed, gear, and lambda value (air/fuel ratio). The list of available ECU drivers is over 1,000 and is constantly being updated and upgraded.

Digital Outputs

The MXS 1.3 Strada features a 1-AMP digital output configurable to be activated/deactivated depending on the value of the analogue/digital inputs or on the impulses coming from the motorcycle’s ECU. This allows you to automatically run external systems, such as switching on/off additional lights, to activate/deactivate a cooling fan or circulation pumps when a certain event happens.

With CAN output, you can send messages directly to an existing CAN network to improve the range of the motorcycle's control possibilities.

Two analogue camera inputs are also available to switch your display into a mirror camera, through a push button command or event management. The camera is sold separately.

Display with Road Icons

The MXS 1.3 Strada has a 5" TFT high contrast colour display. The visual quality is optimised by the ambient light sensor, which keeps the backlight at the best brightness levels for riding on the road.

Road icons allow you to apply conditions to the LED icons, such as fuel, engine, oil, lights, indication and more.

Pre-Configured Pages

The MXS 1.3 Strada shows the RPM scale and all the data you need, like speed, water temperature and oil pressure, lap times and much more. You can customise pages to suit your requirements, including up to four additional fields. Define what data is shown with the end of scale and measure units. Swapping between the pages is easy; just use the push buttons.

Flexible Shift Light & Alarms

The 10 multi-coloured RGB shift lights can be customised to your liking, defining the RPM threshold on analogue or digital inputs, ECU values, expansion values, math channels or optional GPS option. You can choose the conditions and colours, select a solid arm or a flashing one and the flashing frequency. You can also configure an accompanying text message and set the alarm priorities.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What does the MXS Strada do?

The Aim MXS Strada is a digital dash display that can be configured to show real time information from the motorcycle's ECU, analogue/digital inputs, predefined math channels and an optional GPS Module. It provides crucial information like speed, RPM, water temperature, and oil pressure on a high-contrast TFT screen.

What is a TFT dash display?

A TFT (thin-film transistor) dash display is a customisable digital screen that uses thin-film transistors to control individual pixels, resulting in vibrant colours, sharp images and high contrast, making it a common feature in many modern road motorcycles.

What size is the MXS display?

The MXS features a 5", 800 x 480 pixel resolution display, making it the smallest display in the MX Strada series.

What alarms can be set on the MXS Strada?

The MXS Strada comes with 6 customisable RGB LEDs, which are determined by inputs from the motorcycle's ECU or other sensors. The MXS Strada with road icons can be configured with alarms for direction lights, high beams, low beams, low fuel, low oil pressure and low oil level.

What are the best applications for the MXS Strada with road icons?

The MXS Strada with road icons is best suited to custom builds, classic motorbike conversions or as a modern motorbike dash replacement.

What are the differences between the MXS logger and the MXS Strada?

The main difference between the MXS logger and the MXS Strada display is that the logger version has a built-in data logger. However, a Strada Logger can be purchased for the MXS Strada, which records data to an SD card. The MXS logger also has 2 digital outputs, whereas the Strada only has 1.

How do I display gear information on my MXS Strada?

Selected gear information can be sourced by gear potentiometer, ECU stream message, or it can be calculated in real time by the MXS Strada through speed and RPM. Each mode requires a specific gear configuration.

How do I connect & configure my SmartyCam with MXS Strada?

To connect and configure your SmartyCam with MXS Strada, you need to connect the devices, set up the configuration in Race Studio 3, and then transmit the configuration to the device. First, ensure your SmartyCam has power and a formatted SD card. Next, launch Race Studio 3 on your PC, which will detect the devices. Then, go to the "Configurations" page to create a new configuration or edit an existing one and add the "SmartyCam Stream" layer. In this layer, you will associate the necessary functions with the channels and transmit the configuration to the device.

How do I connect my MXS Strada to my motorcycle's engine control unit (ECU)?

Use the main harness and connect to the correct wires for your communication bus (CAN, RS232 or K-Line) by physically wiring the correct wires from your harness to the ECU's data ports and power/ground pins. Then, configure the connection in Race Studio 3 by selecting your ECU manufacturer and model under the "ECU Stream" tab.

How do I connect my MXS Strada to the motorcycle's OBDII connector?

Use a dedicated OBDII wiring harness and configure the MXS Strada with Race Studio 3. The process involves a physical connection followed by software setup to identify your motorcycle's specific ECU protocol. More information can be found here.
