Aim MX Strada Logger Kit

With the Aim MX Strada logger kit, you can turn any MX Strada into a fully working logger. No configurations; just plug it in and you're ready to go.

Why Choose the MX Strada Logger Kit

The Aim Strada logger kit will upgrade and turn any base MX Strada (MXS, MXP, MXG or MXT) into a complete data logger. The logger kit comes with the MX Strada logger, a GPS09 Module and a four-way data hub.

MX Strada Logger

The MX Strada logger kit will record all the data from your practice sessions or race onto the data logger and prepare it to be downloaded to Race Studio 3 software for further analysis. This allows you to review and analyse your data to improve driving technique and improve the vehicle setup, taking seconds off lap times.

Data will be saved on an SD card (supports up to 32GB memory cards) and stored in the logger memory. You can remove the memory card during a pit stop or with the engine running, so if you are in an endurance race or an extended test session, you can analyse your recorded data whilst you are still on track. The MX Strada logger also features a front LED that shows its status: recording/firmware status.

Please Note: SD cards are not included in the kit.

GPS09 Module

Aim GPS technology represents a true revolution in data acquisition. The lightweight, waterproof GPS09 module connects via CAN for quick installation and works with nearly 20 satellites to ensure precision and reliability. It achieves an average accuracy of less than 1 meter, even when the finish line is close to another track segment.

Immediately after switching on, the GPS09 module locks onto satellites rapidly, eliminating the risk of lost signals due to noise or interference. Paired with GPS Manager software, it provides instant lap times, comprehensive track databases, and the ability to set start/finish lines and splits. You can access vital performance data such as speed, chassis analysis, track position, cornering in-line and lateral G and automatic lap timing—everything needed to improve both engine tuning and driving technique.

Data Hub CAN Connection Multiplier

The compact data hub provides four additional CAN channels and works as an interface between the Aim logger and its peripheral devices and accessories, such as the LCU Lambda Controller, GPS Module, TC Hub (thermocouple multiplier), Memory Key and SmartyCams.

Using many devices can result in excessive wiring, but with the data hub, all unnecessary wiring is eliminated for a clean and simple setup.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What can you use the Aim MX Strada Logger for?

The Aim MX Strada Logger can be used in a variety of vehicles that have the MX Strada Display already installed. The MX Strada Logger transforms any base MX Strada Display into a complete logger to record ECU data, lap times, GPS position and more, without purchasing a completely new display logger.

How do you set up the Aim MX Strada Logger Kit?

To set up the Aim MX Strada Logger Kit, you first need to mount the MX Strada Display in your vehicle. You can then connect the Data Hub to the 5-pin CAN/expansion port on the dash harness. This allows you to connect to multiple Aim devices all at once. Then mount the GPS09 Module on the dash or roof, and connect it and the Strada Logger directly to one of the Data Hubs CAN ports.

If you have other products, outside of what is included inside the Strada Logger Kit, connect these directly to the Data Hub. After this, wire the system to a switched 12V supply and ground, and connect to your vehicle's ECU using CAN, RS232, or K-Line, depending on your vehicle.

What cable sizes are available for the Aim GPS09 Module?

The Aim GPS09 Module is available in standard and roof-mounted options. The Standard GPS09 Module is available with 0.5m, 1.3m, 2m and 4m cable lengths, and the Roof-Mounted GPS09 Module is available with 2m and 4m cable lengths in the Strada Logger Kit to suit any setup.

What cable size is the Aim Four-Way Data Hub CAN Connection Multiplier?

The Aim Four-Way Data Hub CAN Connection Multiplier comes with a 40cm cable length in the Strada Logger Kit.

What can be connected to the Aim Data Hub CAN Connection Multiplier?

Data Hubs communicate with Aim loggers using the Aim CAN network (5-pin 712 binder connector) and are needed to mutually connect more expansions, but are not needed to connect the sensors to Aim loggers. Supported expansions include:

  • Other Data Hubs
  • GPS Module
  • Lambda Controller
  • SmartyCam
  • ACC3
  • Loggers
