When It Comes To Grip, Tyre Temperature Is Vital

The Plug & Play Car Racing Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is the ultimate kit for alerting drivers to a change in tyre pressure and for providing data on tyre pressures throughout the race.

Why Choose the Plug & Play Car Racing TPMS

The Plug & Play Tyre Pressure Monitoring System utilises robust sensors for each wheel; these high-resolution sensors measure tyre pressure and temperature, transmitting securely coded data to the onboard receiver.

Tyres are critical to racing performance and getting the best from each tyre is essential to unleashing pace. Unfortunately, constant braking, turning, and enormous rotational forces can lead to incredibly high-temperature build-up in the tyres.

The TPMS is the ultimate tool for alerting drivers to changes in tyre pressures and providing data on how tyre pressures change throughout their races.

All sensors are pre-programmed in-house to be Set 1, Set 2, or Set 3 (or more if required). These can be changed as needed with the Handheld Programming Unit.

TPMS Features

The Plug & Play TPMS Kit comes with a range of advanced features for car racing applications:

  • Lightweight sensors
  • Automatic learning functions for sensor serial numbers & wheel location
  • CE & FCC compliant
  • Connection output for CAN 2.0A up to 1 Mbit/s (default)
  • Pressure & temperature resolution per wheel 15.7 Mbar
  • Pressure & temperature accuracy per wheel +/- 20Mbar
  • Sensors & receiver protection IP67
  • Any number of sensors can be added to the system
  • 1 receiver required for all four sensors
  • Sensor update frequency 2Hz

TPMS Compatibility

The TPMS is compatible with Aim dashes/loggers (except Solo 2 & MyChron), the connection to these devices is typically on CAN2. The addition of these products provides a method of displaying or logging real time tyre pressures.

You may require an extra loom or connector for the dash, as the CAN2 connection is on the second connector. Please see the technical documentation for your device for connection information.

Please Note: Aim dashes and loggers will require a CAN protocol obtained from the Downloads Tab.

TPMS Receiver

The TPMS Receiver is compatible with race car applications and competitions. The receiver utilises 1Mbit CAN (11 bit), which has become standard over the years for professional ECUs, data loggers and dashboards within motorsport.

The receiver has four unique identification numbers for corner positions and will ensure that it can read only the sensors with these numbers. It can also programme any number of additional sensors with serial numbers to make them compatible with the receiver.

You can use the receiver for one, two, or three and more sets of wheels.

TPMS Sensors

The TPMS Sensors are already pre-assigned: FR, FL, RR, RL. All you need to do is connect the sensors to the correct tyre, and all the data will be recorded on the receiver and then overlaid onto your dash/logger.

Each of the TPMS Sensors has a battery lifespan of a minimum of two race seasons. We offer sets of sensors that are fully programmed in-house, so you can purchase as many spare sets as required.

Spare sensors can be programmed with any of the serial numbers that have been allocated to the receiver, and sensor IDs of two unmounted wheels can be swapped, and are supplied with an 11mm valve stem.

When sensors are relocated to a different position on the car, you can automatically assign them to their new position using the TPMS Handheld Programmer using the read function. Any sensor can be allocated to any four corners, and they must have different serial numbers.

Please Note: Should you wish to purchase extra sensors, you will need to buy the Handheld Programming Unit. The unit will manually programme the sensors and read parameters such as pressure, temperature, and battery voltage.

Optional Programming Unit

The TPMS Handheld Programming Unit can read sensors for temperature, pressure, voltage and serial numbers. It is rechargeable with the USB cable supplied.

This Handheld Programming Unit is free when purchasing 16 or more sensors. The programming unit can also programme replacement or additional sensors.
