Brightness and contrast are automatically adjusted to maintain ideal visibility in all lighting conditions, and this allows drivers to clearly monitor not only their best vs current sector times, but also their heart rate, delta, delta bar graphs and more, allowing real time adjustments to be made, improving lap performance.

An exclusive on-screen delta bar animation showcases instant graphical feedback on your live performance, showing how your current timing compares to your best.

LEDs also feature to display your Delta Times allowing you to set a reference lap and visualise where you are gaining and losing time. The integrated lights will display green or red accordingly.

5 RGB shift lights can be customised to display delta lap times or function as traditional shift indicators. The 2 RGB alarm LEDs provide real time engine monitoring of vehicle temperature, ensuring the kart operates within optimal parameters and preventing overheating or potential damage.

Advanced Display, Track Recognition & Easy Connection 

The MyChron 6 2T has a sharp, high-contrast display which helps drivers easily identify the data displayed on screen, as well as 8 different backlight colours.  

Thousands of pre-loaded worldwide track maps are available, the track day lap timer automatically recognises your position on the track as soon as it's switched on. Once you start to drive, it automatically recognises the start line coordinates of the track and starts sampling lap times every time you go past.

Integrated Shift Lights & Customisable Alarms

The 10 multi-coloured RGB shift lights can be customised to your liking, defining the RPM threshold on analogue or digital inputs, ECU values, expansion values, math channels or optional GPS option. You can choose the conditions and colours, select a solid arm or a flashing one and the flashing frequency. You can also configure an accompanying text message and set the alarm priorities.

Available Sensors

With the MyChron 6 2T, you can select two temperature sensors to monitor your engine more precisely. Choose from:

  • Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) Sensor: This under plug sensor measures combustion heat, helping detect overheating from lean mixtures or aggressive tuning.
  • Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensors: M5 and T12 sensors monitor exhaust temps to fine-tune fuel mixture and optimise performance.
  • Water Temperature Sensors: Available in M10 (for Rotax, X30, OK) and M5 gearbox versions, these sensors track coolant temps to prevent overheating, with the M5 also being useful for monitoring gearbox water cooling in shifter karts.

Choosing Your Sensors

Choosing the right pair depends on your engine type and what areas you want to monitor most closely. Using 2 temperature sensors together gives a deeper view of engine performance and reliability.

A popular combo is an EGT and CHT, ideal for air-cooled engines, providing insight into fuel mixture and combustion heat. EGT and water temp sensors suit water-cooled engines like Rotax or X30, balancing tuning with cooling system monitoring.

For shifter karts, pairing gearbox water temp (M5) with either EGT or CHT helps monitor both engine and gearbox temps, preventing wear. Some setups also run dual water temp sensors (M10 + M5) to track both engine and gearbox cooling separately.

The right pairing depends on your engine type and what you need to monitor; performance, cooling, or both.

Your data can be downloaded via cable, Wi-Fi or Mini USB storage, and analysed in depth on your PC with Race Studio 3 software: charts, graphs and histograms will help you to understand your performance, finding out what needs to be improved.

You can compare the data that cannot be shown on displays, with a lot of dedicated views like track split report, channel report, SmartyCam videos and so on, also comparing different sessions.

Expand Your System

Upgrade your MyChron 6 2T lap timer with sensors and expansions for complete data control; OTK non-contact brake, throttle, and brake pressure kits track pedal travel and force, while wheel speed, water temp, CHT, EGT, and steering angle sensors deliver precise performance metrics.

The Data Hub multiplies CAN connections, with powered and non-powered options, with power coming from the 20-hour MyChron Lithium Battery, or a direct 12V external lead.

The ACC3 adds 4 channels and a CAN bus for integration with the LCU-One S Lambda Controller, SmartyCam 3, or Tyre Temperature Kit, and runs on external power. LCU-One S provides adaptable fuel monitoring, and SmartyCam 3 Sport records synchronised video and telemetry for analysis in Race Studio 3.

The MyChron 6 2T Lap Timer has delta times shown, letting you compare your current lap with others to see exactly where you are gaining or losing seconds in real time. The GPS module is also extremely accurate to 25Hz, allowing for advanced tracking capabilities and data collection.

Ultimately, lap timing and data collection are upgraded massively with the MyChron 6 2T Lap Timer, with multiple karting parameters being monitored and recorded for performance analysis.

How does the MyChron 6 2T Lap Timer work?

The Aim MyChron 6 2T GPS Lap Timer relies on satellite positioning, electromagnetic induction and thermal sensors to convert track data into readable information. Before you even start driving, the MyChron 6 connects to satellites and recognises the track using the automatic track recognition technology.

Once you start driving, your chosen configuration will be displayed on the screen. For example, you could see your lap number and the delta lap feature. This is where it specifically shows you where you have lost and gained seconds in your lap, helping you improve your karting performance.

Post-session, you will immediately gain insights from your data as soon as the engine is turned off to review your performance, including your best lap, lap consistency and the highest temperature your engine hit during your drive.

What software can the MyChron 6 2T Lap Timer use?

The MyChron 6 2T can be used with our free Race Studio 3 software for comprehensive data analysis and data management post-session to identify areas of improvement to remain competitive. Race Studio also allows you to configure and customise LED light arrays, sensor inputs, update firmware and more.

Does the MyChron 6 Lap Timer work with other Aim products?

Aim MyChron 6 Lap Timers are designed to work seamlessly with various other Aim products, acting as a central hub for data acquisition & lap timings in most karting setups. It features an expansion port (via CAN connection) that allows for easy integration of sensors (CHT, EGT and water temperature sensors) and systems such as the ACC3, SmartyCam Sport and Data Hubs to enhance performance monitoring. What are the differences between the MyChron 6 and the MyChron 6 2T?

Although the MyChron 6 and the MyChron 6 2T are high-performing, accurate lap timers, the only difference is that the MyChron 6 2T has an additional temperature sensor to allow multiple temperatures to be monitored and measured simultaneously.

How does the MyChron 6 compare to the MyChron 5?

Whilst the MyChron 5 was still a brilliant lap timer, the MyChron 6 provides more advanced and upgraded features:
