Compact Data Logger
The Aim ECULog is a compact, lightweight, and waterproof data logger designed to record essential performance data directly from your vehicle’s ECU. With its ultra-small size, it’s ideal for motorcycles, karts, or vehicles with limited installation space.
Why Choose the ECULog Data Logger
The ECULog is designed for those who want simple but powerful ECU data recording in the most compact form. With its ability to integrate with Aim expansions, GPS modules, and cameras, the ECULog transforms into a versatile performance monitoring system.

ECULog Features
The compact data logger calculates:
- Lap times
- Sector times
- Vehicle position and speed
- 3D acceleration and gyro
- ECU data via CAN, K-Line or RS232 connections.
(You can select the protocol of your car/bike among thousands of pre-defined protocols, or easily develop your own). - Digital RPM input from the primary of the coil (150-400V) or from a square wave (8-50V) when no ECU connection is available.
In addition, the ECULog features a second CAN for connecting an external device or Aim Expansion, meaning you can add a Lambda Controller, analogue inputs, and a professional motorsport camera for enhanced functionalities.

GPS & Inertial Platform
While the ECULog itself focuses on ECU data, it integrates seamlessly with expansions for broader functionality:
- GPS09 Module (optional): Adds 25Hz GPS data for lap timing, track position, and speed.
- Inertial Data: Expandable to include 3D accelerations and gyro data via the Aim ecosystem.

ECULog Connectivity
The ECULog ensures flexible data acquisition for a wide range of applications:
- ECU Connection: Compatible with thousands of predefined CAN, K-Line, or RS232 protocols.
- Expansions: Connect to Aim modules such as ACC3 (analogue inputs), LCU-One Lambda controller, or SmartyCam 3.
- Storage: 4GB internal memory plus a removable USB-C key for easy transfer.
Compact, Durable Design
Measuring just 61 × 44 × 27mm, the ECULog is the smallest logger in the Aim lineup. Its IP65-rated housing protects against dust and water spray, making it suitable for both motorcycles and motorsport applications where durability is crucial.

Analyse with Race Studio 3
All data logged by the ECULog can be downloaded wirelessly or via USB-C, then reviewed in Aim’s professional Race Studio 3 software.
Analyse lap times, sector times, GPS maps, accelerations, engine data, and video (when paired with a SmartyCam 3) to improve your performance and understand your vehicle in detail.
Histograms, XY view, diagrams, maps, and videos recorded with SmartyCam 3 are automatically synchronised for better comparison.

Expand Your System
ECULog Data Logger is built to scale with your needs:
- ACC3 Analogue Input Module: Add pressure, temperature, or suspension sensors.
- LCU-One Lambda Controller: Log air/fuel ratios and exhaust data for engine tuning.
- SmartyCam: Overlay ECU and expansion data directly onto HD video.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
What are motorsport data loggers?
Motorsport data loggers are specialised devices used in the motorsport industry to record and analyse data from a vehicle. This data can help identify areas of improvement for both the driver and the vehicle, and can include metrics like speed, RPM, lap times, temperatures, Lambda value (air/fuel ratio), and so much more.
Data loggers come as small loggers that can be integrated into existing motorsport setups or as display loggers that have already been integrated into easy-to-read displays.
Why is it important to log ECU data?
Logging ECU data is essential for diagnosing engine issues, optimising performance tuning, and ensuring reliability by recording real time metrics like air-fuel ratios, boost pressures, and sensor data. It allows for precise adjustments without engine damage, aids in predictive maintenance, and helps analyse vehicle behaviour during racing or everyday driving.
Which products are compatible with the Aim ECULog Data Logger?
The ECULog Data Logger is designed to work within the Aim ecosystem to enhance performance monitoring. Compatible Aim products include the SmartyCam range, GS-Dash, Data Hubs, ACC3 and various sensors.
How does the Aim ECULog Data Logger work with the SmartyCam 3?
The ECULog logs all the data, such as RPM and temperature, onto its internal memory. After the SmartyCam is connected via a CAN connection, the ECULog transmits according to the SmartyCam Stream onto the EXP port, and the SmartyCam receives the data in real time.
When you record a session, data is logged, and the SmartyCam overlays this directly onto the video footage. This means that you get lap times, speed and other data as part of your track recordings.
Is the Aim ECULog Racing Data Logger good for karting?
The ECULog is designed to log data directly from an ECU via CAN, K-Line or RS232, making it an ideal product for vehicles with a compatible electronic control unit. If you are running a custom or higher-end kart with an ECU and want to log all available engine parameters, the ECULog is ideal. If your kart doesn't have a compatible ECU, the MyChron 6 range is the better option as it does not require external power to work and is specifically designed for karting.
