Throttle Rotative Potentiometer
Aim data loggers/displays can measure the relative displacement between two different points using a sensor (rotary potentiometer) directly connected to the two measuring points. This sensor can be used to measure angular displacements, such as throttle position. With a cable length of 24cm and a 4-pin 719 male plastic binder connector, this professional throttle position sensor is of the utmost quality and technical grade for accurate readings.
How to Install the Rotative Potentiometer
The Rotative Potentiometer measures rotational displacements between a fixed point, a “reference point”, and a movable one. The potentiometer can be fixed to the chassis using two M3 screws or a self-made iron bracket. Once the sensor is mounted on your vehicle, you can connect the rotating cursor to the throttle, pedal or other moving elements.
Ensure that the throttle is in its “zero position” (i.e. when the throttle is not pressed), and the potentiometer is in its “zero position”, too. When the throttle is thoroughly pressed, the potentiometer is in its “high” position.
Please Note: This instrument’s mechanical measure range goes up to 130°, while the electrical measure range goes up to 106°. Do not exceed the instrument's maximum measurement range. If you need to measure more significant displacements, please use a different sensor: incorrect use may seriously damage the sensor.
Connections
The Aim Throttle Rotative Potentiometer comes with a 24cm cable ending with a 719 plastic connector, making it compatible with various 719 patch leads. The 719-719 patch lead can be connected with MXS / MXG / MXL (Pro and Pista) / MXL2 / EVO5. The 712-719 patch lead can be connected with the Channel Expansion, EVO4 and EVO4S. To extend the length between your dash display/logger and the analogue sensor, please use the 719-719 patch lead, which is available in various lengths from 0.5 to 4 metres. For most installations, you will need one of these leads.
