The Taipan Y V2 ECU is an aftermarket plug & play engine control unit created by Aim, exclusively designed for plug & play installation with Yamaha YZ250F and YZ450F motocross bikes (2024-2025).

Engine control requires precision. At 20,000 RPM, the Taipan Y V2 ECU guarantees precision of 1/10 of a degree: this means an accuracy within 0.8 microseconds (µs) for turning the spark ON.

  • The possibility of repeating dozens of tests at the bench, always obtaining the same result.
  • A perfect reactivity at every minimum change of any point of a map, resulting in more power at the wheel.

Taipan Y V2 ECU Connections

The Taipan Y V2 ECU has 4 connectors:

  • Main Connector: Compatible with most off-road bikes.
  • CAN Connector: Connects to the Handlebar Switch 2 and data logger.
  • 2nd CAN Connector: Connects to the UC Bridge to communicate with the PC.
  • 3rd Connector: Connects to spare analogue inputs and a possible second injector.

You can choose from up to five selectable maps with the Handlebar Switch 2.

The Taipan can manage up to five maps that can be selected both by OEM switches (Honda, Husqvarna, KTM) or even more easily by the Aim Handlebar Switch 2.

HBS2 is the compact, high-performance, and built tough Handlebar Switch.
If you're looking for a highly flexible and ergonomic switch, the model from Aim offers a great solution with 4 pushbuttons and 11 integrated LEDs.

UC Bridge License Types

UC Bridge is available in two distinct license types:

User License

This license provides end users with essential functionalities, including:

  • Receiving engine maps from your tuner and flashing them directly to the ECU
  • Displaying system exceptions or logged issues from the ECU within the SPARK software
  • Adjusting fuel injection corrections across various RPM ranges

Tuner License

Tailored for professional tuners, this license enables full control over map creation and configuration, including:

  • Designing and modifying base maps
  • Create custom maps from scratch
  • Managing configurations to be sent and applied to the ECU

Smoothing Algorithm

By selecting at least three contiguous cells and right-clicking, a context menu appears. Choosing ‘Smoothing’ from the menu applies the smoothing algorithm, which is also reflected in the 2D view.

3D visualisation mode complements the 2D view. The 3D graph supports rotation, zooming, and panning, with controls detailed in the tab’s legend.
