The Aim Track Day Kit just got a significant camera upgrade. The SmartyCam 3 Sport has been replaced by the all-new SmartyCam 4 Corsa, giving you enhanced video quality with all of the same data logging benefits that the previous Track Day Kit provided. Here’s what’s new and what’s stayed the same with the Aim Track Day Kit.

Resolution & Frame Rate

While the previous SmartyCam 3 Sport recorded at 1920 x 1080 pixels with 30 frames per second, the new SmartyCam 4 Corsa provides an upgraded frame rate of up to 60 fps. This increased frame rate provides a smooth image for fast-paced motorsport footage.

Camera Sensor & Stabiliser

An upgrade from the already fantastic global shutter sensor, the SmartyCam 4 Corsa features an all-new Sony 12 megapixel CMOS sensor with a Sony LSI stabiliser. Combined with the improved frame rate, the Corsa camera provides superior video quality, enhanced by the LSI stabiliser.

Connectivity

Featuring the same 712 5-pin female binder connector port, the SmartyCam 4 Corsa features an additional 712 7-pin female binder connector for ECU-MIC connection and a USB-C port. As well as the physical connection, the Corsa track day camera also features built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to link directly to the new Race Studio 3 app for settings and adjustments.

Audio

Where the SmartyCam 3 Sport only came with a single internal mic, the new Corsa features an additional port for an external microphone for improved audio quality.

Memory

The SmartyCam 3 Sport only allowed for a microSD card up to 2TB to store data. The 4 Corsa features modern USB-C compatibility, alongside traditional SD card support up to 2TB for easy data transfer and review.

What Has Stayed The Same?

Although there are many new and upgraded features of the camera system, the Track Day Kit provides many of the same features that the previous Solo 2 DL Track Day Kit with Double Bracket featured.

  • The Solo 2 DL features accurate GPS and GLONASS technology using a 4-satellite system to provide information such as lap times, lap count and predictive lap times.
  • Captures every lap with clear video and overlays lap and ECU data onto footage to help improve driver performance or vehicle setup. 
  • The camera unit supports start/stop and power syncing via an accelerometer or connected CAN network. 
  • Data can be combined from the SmartyCam and the Solo 2 DL in Race Studio 3 to review performance metrics like speed, RPM and G-force against track position, so you can see where lap times can be improved.

  • Includes a double windscreen and roll cage mounting bracket to house both the motorsport camera and the GPS lap timer in one place with a single mounting frame, making mounting the kit between vehicles very straightforward.
