Front Wheel Hub Speed Sensor
Aim data loggers/displays can measure a kart's front wheel speed using a non-contact sensor that detects a metallic trigger passing in front of it. The Aim Front Wheel Hub Speed Pickup Sensor is suitable for use with the MyChron 6 and MyChron 6 2T, as well as our older MyChron Kart Dash/Data Logger models using an ACC3 (connects to the harness) or MyChron Expansion. With a 4-pin 712 male metal binder connector, this professional Speed Pickup Sensor is of the utmost quality and technical grade for accurate readings.
How to Install the Speed Pickup Sensor
The Front Wheel Hub Speed Sensor is supplied with a metal plate with a magnetic cylinder and a metallic bracket that the sensor is welded to. Install the magnetic plate to the kart's front wheel rim.
Next, install the bracket by firmly fixing it onto the steering arm to reduce sensor movement; if the steering arm is solid, make a hole with a 6mm drill bit. When mounting the bracket, ensure that the sensitive part passes in front of the cylinder at a 3-5mm distance and that the bracket does not contact the metallic plate when steering.
