The Best Motorsport Bullet Camera
The Aim SmartyCam 3 GP camera system uses a robust and compact bullet camera making it perfect for single seaters, motorcycles, and other applications where cockpit space is limited – making it one of the best motorsport bullet cameras on the market.
The SmartyCam 3 GP camera is available in three lens versions, each with a choice of a 2 or 4 metre CAN expansion cable and a bullet camera length of 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m or a custom cable length.
Please Note: The camera MUST be externally powered as the internal battery is only designed for initial configuration and returns are not accepted for custom cable lengths.

The SmartyCam 3 GP is purpose-built for harsh motorsport environments, eliminating the seasick “wave effect” of standard cameras with its global shutter CMOS sensor that handles engine vibrations at high RPM. It features a coaxial bullet cable with enhanced electromagnetic noise protection, an integrated CAN bus hub with dedicated ports for bullet cam, video output, GPS, and expansion, plus an optional CAN ECU connection for direct access to ECU data via Aim protocols.
Designed in machined aluminium and sealed to IP67 standards, the SmartyCam 3 GP withstands extreme weather and vibrations, while sound recording can be improved with an external mic. Paired with free Race Studio 3 software, users can easily split and compare laps for detailed video analysis and performance review.
Automatic Track Selection & Overlay
SmartyCam 3 GP can automatically recognise which track you're on and begin mapping - if your track does not register, you can create your own custom track within Race Studio 3.
With Race Studio 3 software you can also configure your overlay. Add your logo and track map; choose your graphic elements from a list of pre-determined sets with the same layout or even single objects from different sets, and your videos will be truly yours.
Sync & Analyse Your Data & Video Like Never Before
View all the channels, including RPM, throttle, engaged gears, acceleration, temperatures, and pressures including a tri-axis accelerometer, displayed on the video footage and review them with our Race Studio 3 analysis software.
Video Output/Streaming
The Aim SmartyCam 3 GP features a video output with an SD interface. It allows you to send the video/audio directly to wherever you choose, for example your pit crew, at 30 or 60fps.
Key to Performance Improvement
Data analysis in motorsport is a formidable framework for enhancing your personal or team’s performance. You can visualise and manage alerts and essential data such as oil pressure and battery voltage to identify potential issues early.
The video of a whole session, once downloaded on your PC, can be split into individual videos of each lap: sync your video and data to visualise where you were faster or slower. The same operation can be performed with a SmartyCam 3 video recorded on the same track; you will be able to compare your best lap with a previous lap, or another driver's personal best.
All The Data You Need
From speed, RPM and lap number, to gear shifts and much more, data can be read from all possible sources. From GPS; track map and vehicle position as well as speed, lap and split times, or from an Aim logger; RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures can be recorded as well.
Containing a full internal datalogger, all data received from the CAN bus and from the internal sensors are recorded in .mp4 files produced at the end of your test, your SD (or MSD) card contains all the information you need for a deep data analysis.
Higher Storage Capacity
Other HD cameras often chase higher pixel counts which leads to huge file sizes without much real benefit. The SmartyCam 3 GP is different: it uses smart H.264 compression settings that keep the video quality you need while keeping file sizes small. This means you can quickly download and review footage at the track for data analysis, instead of dealing with huge cinematic files that look pretty but slow you down.
Choose between three file quality levels: One hour recording = 4GB (high quality), 2GB (normal quality) or 1.5GB (lower quality).
The SD card housing on the Aim SmartyCam 3 GP is 100% protected from air and weathering.
